Step 10: But Stack Overflow Keeps Track of my Applications...

I'm sorry but that's just plain crap. Job Site X may know that you applied for a job but they don't actually help you with the process and even if Job Site X helps you, there are 10 other job sites where you're going to look for jobs. You need tools dedicated to your job hunt not tools dedicated to your job hunt on Stack Overflow. In my last job search, I found possible jobs for me on:

• Stack Overflow
• Dice
• Career Builder
• Github
• Company Web Sites
• Indeed
• We Work Remotely
• Monster

That tools that you find on Stack Overflow aren't going to help you with jobs found on other sites and no one can ignore jobs just because they aren't on one site or another.
